About Our Business NorthStar Works, LLC was first formed in 1988.  Beginning with construction, and interior refurbishment, the business remained part-time until 2002.  The company was incorporated in the state of North Dakota in October of 2002 as a full time home inspection and home maintenance service provider.   We continue to grow as a business thanks to the continued support of many new and regular clients.  To them we say, "THANK YOU!"   Our background includes:  plumbing, electrical, structural construction, roofing, interior and exterior finish work.  We feel these go hand-in-hand with the home inspection process.  If you don't know how things go together and work, then how do you know how to inspect it? Rick is a member of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors, the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors, the International Code Council,  International Society of Home Inspectors, and the National Association of Home Builders.    He is the only Master Certified Inspector in the state of North Dakota.  He has an associates degree in Applied Science and studied architecture at the University of Michigan.  He graduated from the American Home Inspectors Training Institute in residence, located in Waukesha, Wisconsin in 2001.  He is also a mold inspector, certified by ProLab Environmental Services of Weston, Florida, providing a greater range of services and knowledge to our clients.  His other activities include city inspector for Larimore and Walhalla ND.   LaVonne graduated from Presentation College, Aberdeen, South Dakota in 1988 as a surgical technologist assisting doctors in surgery.   This has given her a insight on detail work and preperation for the job at hand.   She has over 20 years of trade experience. She is a self-taught tile setter, sheetrock finisher, and master painter who excels at working with our clients one-on-one.   She has the ability to  guide our clients   from the beginning of the  design process to the successful conclusion of their vision or idea.  This insures that our clients interests and tastes are represented fully in every project we complete together.    Together we possess over 45 years of combined inspection and   construction experience.  We feel that our working knowledge of local climate and building history give us a great advantage in passing that knowledge to our clients.
